Pillars of water
Today is another day without obligations and work to do. So I took some time to try and take a shot Ive wanted to make for quite a while. The result is not what i was looking for but I will live with it :-)
When i was a child (11-14yrs) we lived in Barcelona and I grew fond of the work by Gaudi. I remember traveling the city admiring his buildings and wondering through the building site of the sagrada familia.
Last year I was back in Barcelona together with Robin and we visited the Sagrada familia again. The central part of the church is now finished. It was beautiful on its own, but I felt so strongly that the spirit of gaudi was missing. I bought a book by the architects who took over the design as Gaudi hadnt finished the work before he died. The book explians about the geometric basis the architects took for the design, and there and then i realised Gaudi would have used more then just geometry to create something. He would have used at least the force of gravity to shape the mid ship and its pillars.
Because my electric boiler at the sink in the kitchen doesnt supply enough water to do the dishes I regularly go upstairs to fetch a big container with warm water. I take it downstairs and pour it into the sink. The shape of the stream of water coming out of the big flask struck me as if it could have been a pillar in Gaudi's designs.
So I tried to grasp a bit of the flow patterns in the water which turns out to be quite hard...
