Bricks Don't Normally Float

Here along the Gulf Coast it rarely freezes but it did happen last night.  It was 27F (-3C) and my tropical water lily's found themselves in a thick layer of ice.    It is the end of the road for a number of tropical plants in my landscape.

We will be back to 70F (21 C) on Monday.
