Alder Hey

Saturday 7th January 2017 (1596)

Most Saturday mornings there is a coffee morning in our church hall run by an organisation or charity to raise funds. They are always well supported and a great time of fellowship for members of the community. This morning we had an extra one run by members of the congregation in support of Alder Hey. The person who organised it has a granddaughter who has been very ill and has spent a lot of time at Alder Hey in recent years but has been very courageous. The turn out was amazing and everyone worked hard to make it an extra special and successful time. 

This cake was on auction, going to the highest bidder. It is made as the logo for Alder Hey.    

** MINI RANT AHEAD **
I have had an extremely bad telephone line for nearly a month, impossible to use. When I reported it the engineer booking was three weeks away! He came today, was here half an hour and confirmed that there was a fault on the line. At which point he said he wasn't able to deal with that and they would have to call an Openreach Engineer out! That means a further wait and still no working telephone!
