The Quarantine Continues...

The Chief Vet informs all of us back-garden poultry keepers that we must keep our hens in palatial glass houses intended for exotic plants inside until at least the end of February...


I suspect the confinement will not go on for longer than that - because then free range hens will no longer be classed as 'free range'. My understanding is that 12 weeks is the maximum confinement for a 'free range' hen...

Edit: - the strange twigs, branches and ball are added for entertainment (of the hens) and not things dying in our glasshouse. Though the 2 resident frogs/toads are truly hacked off by the over-staying visitors.
