Early Morning

We are in the throes of yet another heat wave with consecutive days of 35C+, expected to continue for at least another week. The worst part is that the overnight temps are around 25 - 28C.  So, after little sleep last night I decided to get up go for a walk around Lake Victoria, with my camera, of course.
It was 6.15am when I took this.  The promise of more heat is there in the sky, but the general ambience of the lake and the wetlands was so serene I allowed myself to deny it a little longer. There were few people about, the walk did me good and I returned for breakfast a much calmer person.
One feature of the Goulburn Valley is our huge sky - there is not one hill for miles. Great opportunities for sunsets as well as sunrises.  I must get down here more often. My extra is a view across the lake with the early sun hitting the eucalypts. The lake area is totally restored with wetland plants and natives. This is within 1km of our CBD so is very accessible.
