Mother's Milk
August and September are magical months on Banks Peninsula if cute baby animals are your thing. Lambs and calves start hitting the ground in numbers; sometimes it seems that most paddocks have newborns gambolling in the early spring sunshine.
Today the Nor'Wester treated us Cantabrians to a fine day, the result being that the Alps stood proud on the Horizon. Instead of focussing on the usual sheep & mountains vista, I plumped for this intimate shot of a week old lamb taking a feed for today's blip. Somehow it seemed even more heart-warming than the sunshine.
