Fly, fly away

From my understanding and research, feathers are often thought to hold symbolic meaning, especially since they belong to beautiful living creatures that have been given the ability to fly.  For many years I've been intrigued by feathers.  I have a jar full of them and can often be seen picking one up off the road or path to add to my collection.  A few years ago, I even had one tattooed on my left upper arm with a quill on the end of it. (Maybe one day I'll show it to you.)  Because they belong to birds of flight, to me they strengthen the meaning of life, freedom, liberty, independence and triumph.  They have opened my curious mind and heart to possibilities and to pursue and follow my dreams.  

I've soared with freedom
To heights I'd only dreamt of
New resting place found
