Open sesame

Visited the Mono County Park boardwalk along the shores of Mono Lake this evening. The place was crawling with juvenile Violet Green Swallows, all fluttering about and making lots of noise. I noticed that sometimes while perched they just open and close their mouths for no apparent reason...trying their jaws out, I suppose?

This species previously blipped on 5 May 201o, for my 100th entry.
