This magnolia is just past it's best and the fruit inside can be seen and the petals are starting to brown near the centre.  I had to cut it and put on the BBQ table because the wind was too blustery for a shot of it on the tree.  
The trampers have text to say they are out of the hills and driving back home.  No need for search and rescue :-)  It will be interesting to hear how their fitness was.  I explored Nelson a little more and can now get myself there and back without any wrong turns.  
P.S When I saw the fern in yesterdays blip I took the pic but never went back to get the washing.  It's extra dry today.
