Tom Cruise at Hogmanay

Early Cocktail action from Dave Stuart on Hogmanay, Bellini for me and Porn Star Martini for him, which sounds like a big girls blouse drink.

No big Cromdale house party for us this year because of canine conundrums. So in the morning it was a long planned Cassie Stone raid with Ma Sinclair to Nigg Bay before the harbour board redevelop and wipe the historic lintels and flag stones and Cassie stones into concrete oblivion. Years ago, Aberdeen's lovely town council was already decades into its lifelong commitment to rip up and dump the City's architectural heritage, and took the ancient cobble stones, hewn out by grafters from quarries, carved by master craftsman, ripped them off the streets and dumped them at nigg bay. And plopped tarmac down instead. The squared edges have long been rounded but the whole beach is covered in the city's history.

A wee visit in by Neighbour Pat, it's not every Hogmanay you turn 60, and then she stopped in by later to sample Tom Cruise cocktails.
