Lichen

A day spent mostly on doing laundry!  And catching up with neighbours.  It's always the same when you have been away, even if it was just for a few days.  Walked back through B&J's woodland, where there are lots of shoots of snowdrops coming up but none in bud yet.  Lots of mosses and lichens, and the unmistakable smell of damp trees and wet undergrowth. 
 
Boiled more tatties for the hens, who seem to be a lot happier now the rain has finally stopped.  Hopefully the avian flu restrictions will be lifted soon and they'll be free to wander again.
