Manuherikia
I went for a bit of a mountain bike ride today. (That was a truly masterful understatement). I'm in central Otago, near Naseby. I rode up the East Manuherikia (don't worry if you can't pronounce it - I can't either) then Camp Stream. Up the zig-zag road to Little Omarama Saddle. Then the real climbing began - across the ridge line. Crazy, steep, rock-garden scree. And the descent was insane - 700m in one push, on the same stupid-steep loose and blocky scree. There were no heroes here today - I took it very easy. Then down Boundary Creek and the West Manuherikia and to the confluence with the East branch and back to the car. Massive. That's the Ida Range in the background.
And it seems I have a Blip birthday today. 730 - two years of Blipping. It only took me ten years to do it.
I threw in a few extras to celebrate.
