Punakaiki

We left Nelson bright and early and in sunshine and warmth and drove inland skirting Kahurangi National Park to Murchison where we stopped for a coffee.  Scenery very like the Lakes and Scotland - valleys, trees and a bit of rain.  

Continued along Highway 6 westwards and finally saw the sea at Charleston.  Drove south towards Punakaiki which is to be our home for the night.  Lovely hotel looking towards the sea.  We are in the Paparoa National Park and went to see the pancake rocks and blowholes this afternoon.  Excellent.  This is looking north from the pancake rocks.

The internet connection is very slow here so I am having trouble commenting this evening.
