The Birthday Boy

Today was Peter's birthday - his 70th. There is no way that this man looks his age!

Di and Inge threw a surprise breakfast party at their house for him, and we 10 women were on the doorstep to sing Happy Birthday. His shock (and pleasure) were obvious, and we went on to have an amazing time.
We started with Nigella's Poinsettia cocktail (fizzy wine, cointreau, cranberry) with Pat's fruit salad, and then had a huge menu to choose from - eggs any way, haggis, sausages, mushrooms, tomoatoes, potato scones, Smoked salmon, smoked haddock, homemade bread and jams.......

We also had our Carol Concert tonight, which went really well. On with the festive spirit!
