No Joy

Apparently there were a flock of Waxwings in Porty yesterday, although I only saw comments about them online today. Not really with much hope of seeing them I went for a bit of a wander this afternoon. Looking for possible berry-laden trees I headed away from the beach but although I did see some Fieldfares high in the trees in Abercorn Park, there were no Waxwings to be seen. I ended up somewhere I had never been before - Joppa Quarry Park. The park is on the site of a quarry that produced local building stone and then clay to make bricks. The quarry was regularly  visited by Portobello geologist Hugh Miller teaching for fossils in the sedimentary rocks.
