Portencross flyby
Transatlantic passengers hurtle across the sky above Portencross Castle (in extra photos), the last mainland resting place for several deceased kings of Scotland. The kings were then taken by boat to their final resting place on the Isle of Iona.
One such King was Indulf who died in 962 AD. Indulf had led an united Scottish army and had already regained Edinburgh and the Lothians from the Kingdom of Northumbria. The Danish King 'Eric of the bloody axe' - however fancied parts of Scotland for himself. He arrived with 50 ships on the Forth and was met by the Scottish Army. He shat it and sailed away round the East coast to the Moray Firth. His ships eventually landed near Findochty (where my mum is from and a few miles away from myself) and the tracking army engaged him (Battle of the Bauds). The Scots won again but Indulf was mortally wounded. No records show where he died but he body lay at St Andrews for a while before being taken by road to Portencross.
Blip will tell you its my birthday - 2190 blips indeed but its not as I have backdated blips (I think I'm on consecutive day 1966). Theres a few extra pics of the castle. C and I then left and headed up to Largs were more Vikings were fought 400 years after Indulf and had lunch in Nardinis then played the 2p machines (also an extra).
