Not the day we planned today.

This morning found Grandma on the floor after a fall last night, looks like she never made it to bed :( Trip in the blue light number to A&E, arrived at 10.40 and still here. Department is heaving and some really really poorly people including someone I know who has a very poorly relative in resus. Grandma has awful facial bruising, other bruises, very sore wrists and fingers, infection in blood and has had scans etc. She is being admitted but no beds available yet. I'm amazed how the staff cope as it's so busy and level of illness is extremely high. Disappointing that still people using the service when clearly not an accident or emergency, one man kicked off for waiting and he said I have appointment with GP at 5 but don't want to wait, poor staff having to deal with that.

Poor Jack we had plans today for his last day of holidays which went to pot. Will make up for it at the weekend but he had a friend over to play that cheered him up.
