Rock Climbing - no problem for a Wall Lizard.

We have lots of these Podarcis Muralis, common wall lizards, in and around the garden but I had not seen them in the "Zen" part of the garden before. The rounded stones are worn like that from centuries of being rolled along the bed of the River Rhone. We have quarries nearby where you can select your own stones and when we started making the garden it seemed like a great idea to create an area that would not need weeding - not true! Dust, dead leaves, lizard sh.. etc make a lovely compost between the stones and then the seeds arrive, then the weeds arrive, then etc. etc.
Look at his large feet, hence Podarcis
