Tenko

Got this boxset of the classic BBC series, "Tenko" (1981). Truly excellent. What strikes me having watched a few episodes of it again, (and other dramas of this early 80s period, such as "Boys From the Blackstuff" and "Tinker, Tailor..."), is how the plot moves much more slowly than in modern TV drama. This gives the subtleties of the characters much more time to develop. Modern TV drama scriptwriters and producers seem to think that the modern TV audience has the attention span of a goldfish. Maybe they're right...?
