First Day Walk .....

Can you believe it's 2017!?!  Me either!

Several of the state parks here in Pennsylvania have what they call "First Day Walks" on January 1 of each year.  Our favorite (and closest) state park, Jacobsburg SP is one of them.  They offer two walks .... one in the morning and one in the afternoon.

We opted not to take either of these walks but we did go to Jacobsburg and went on our own walk.  As we were getting ready to go back to the car I saw some Eastern Bluebirds!!  What!?! Eastern Bluebirds!?!

I actively seek out these birds as we don't have them in our yard and I absolutely love them!  

Well, suffice to say we did not go back to the car until we were done "stalking" them.  They are very skittish birds and don't let you get too close so this shot and the extra are heavily cropped.
