The little beach at Cove is approachable only through a tunnel cut into the cliff side except at low tide when it is possible to go down some steep steps and then scramble across rocks. This photo was taken at the tunnel exit looking across to where two boats were bobbing in the tiny harbour sheltering from the waves which occasionally crashed over the wall. Dozens of lobster pots were piled up beside the two little harbour cottages just out of view.   A hundred years ago twenty families living at Cove depended on fishing for herring, haddock and whiting but now the boats are used for crab and lobster fishing. 
The extra was taken from the harbour wall at St Abb’s just beyond reach of the waves which were coming over the wall.
