The Boxer

 
This powerful portrait by Peter Howson in the Royal Concert Hall sums up a certain character in Glasgow- known as the Glasgow Hard Man.  Howson was himself a boxer in his youth and it is a recurring theme in his work.
 
Saw it again today when we returned for the annual performance of “The Messiah”, always a good stat to the New Year.
 
 
   
Oh yes we managed to squeeze in a quick trip to John Lewis to look at their sales- and both ended up buying new diaries for 2017.
