A Day Out

It was a day we wanted to go out. It was just a pity it was a bank holiday, everybody else wanted a day out, too!

We used to have a routine of going to the Kirkstone Pass Inn for lunch on this day before we had children. We made the same trip a few years ago, taking mum with us but she was car-sick on the twisting pass so after that we made a trip each year via Thirlmere to Lakeland Ltd instead. Mum liked their lunches.

So today, we had lunch in the Kirkstone Pass Inn, took a few photos at Waterhead then went for a look around the Lakeland shop.

The sun shone all day, too much so while we were taking photos. I misjudged it. We would have been better going to Lakeland first and getting a sunset here later in the afternoon.

Oh, and yes, some of you are friends on FB and know it has been my birthday today!
