Only In San Francisco!

Happy New Year!

After an 11 hour sleep, I woke up in San Francisco feeling much better than I had in the last couple of days. It was a beautiful day and I had plans to meet a friend for a celebratory New Year's breakfast. We drove to Ocean Beach and ate at the historic Beach Chalet restaurant, with a terrific view of the Pacific Ocean.

After breakfast we went a little further up the peninsula and walked around the ruins of the Sutro Baths, and along the Lands End coastal path. A little later we drove further north to Baker Beach. The surf was up and walking along the beach gave us a terrific view of the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a chilly, windy day and yet we saw a couple of families having picnics, chairs set up for a beach wedding and one very underdressed Santa parading up and down the beach. I hope his hat was keeping him warm!
