Alcock Tarn

Lying above Grasmere to the east this tends to be quieter than other Lakeland beauty spots. The overnight dusting of snow can be seen on the fells above. 

Temperature was 0 deg C when we left the car at 9.30 and up to 3 deg C when we got back at 11.20. Finger numbingly cold at the tarn when taking a few photos. Good for walking as it was firm underfoot and only a few icy patches which were easily avoided.
