New Years Day

I hope everyone is having a good start to 2017.. We had a big windstorm come through this morning ( we were prepared because of predictions - H and I moved our boat off our dock yesterday to a more sheltered island dock because of that. Our neighbor's call H " Mr. Risk Adverse". For good reason. This time there was a good reason:-) ). And late morning off goes the power. We discovered what pole the tree fell on ( not ours) but had a heck of a time getting thru to the electric co. BC hydro to let them know. Finally there was a notice that they were alerted and would come over so we are on the beach looking for their boat ( you can just see it at the dock in the middle) and trying to keep warm ( some do squats and jumping jacks!) when the sun going down gave us a very nice show! About 5 minutes after this we saw a light go on that dock! And our house Xmas lights ... Hurray! (It IS New Year's Day and they do get overtime wages, but still we are grateful for the good service. ). Writing this down so I will remember this next year when we are thinking of coming this time of year! :-). Ha.
Family leaves very early tomorrow. Before the sun. And we have to walk to the other dock. Pumpkin pie in the oven starting to smell good!

Edit : just looked at last years and was reminded how we were all asked to support the brand new blip plan worked out by 4 courageous blippers ... Big changes ... And success!! Let's kept that in mind when we think about what could happen this year..
