New Year's walk

Decided to try a new walk for our first of 2017. We looked at the local wildlife trust website and found a 10 K walk (Wildlife walk one) that linked up Greenham Common, Bowdown woods and a lake and reed bed habitat that we'd not visited before. 

The walk was great - varied landscapes and a few birds around. We might even have heard a Cetti's warbler in the reed bed section. We had walking boots and gaiters on so we didn't mind the mud and we got quite warm at various points. 

We got back to the car just as the rain started and by the time we stopped at a supermarket for some bread, the clouds had opened. We definitely had the best part of the day. 

Quiet afternoon adding to the crochet border on my latest blanket and getting cosy on the sofa.

I started this journal as a new year's resolution in 2011 and saw it through several years without a break. I've been blipping sporadically over the last couple of years but I'm hoping to get back on track in 2017.
