In The Thick Of It

The promise of fireworks once again enticed me out of the house at a quarter to midnight. As usual, they did not disappoint with four or five separate shows going on at once. I camped by the closest one with my tripod to capture the action up close. Even with the loan of our son's 16-35 mm wide angle, I was too close to get all of the burst in the frame. I was not however as close as those who had enjoyed a meal on the sand. The closest tables had been vacated, but people were still crowded around the exploding fireworks - making for a nice foreground.
