,,Out with the old, In with the new

Looking down from the Royal Greenwich Park, the old Royal Naval Hospital, now the National Maritime Museum, can be seen in the foreground. Separated only by the River Thames, the City skyscrapers dominate the skyline. A shocking contrast of old and new. Which do you prefer?

First day of 2017 and a trip to Greenwich to the classic car show in the old market. Great lunch from a vegan Ethiopian Street food stall. Then down came the torrential rain.

Spent the afternoon in the Maritime museum, followed by a visit to the recently refurbished Queens House (the white building in the centre) which has a magnificent spiral staircase, and galleries of art related to the seas.

Apart from the weather, a pleasant start to a new year.
