Bomber Command

It is quite obvious why you often hear the term a "Squadron of Pelicans".  Well they're not quite flying in formation, but it was fantastic to see so many pelicans in the one place today.

My brother Steve has just purchased a beautiful boat which is ideal to cruise up and down the Blackwood River in Augusta.  Today was its second outing and it was just wonderful to see the other side of a town that I love so much.  We went for kilometres up the river and on our way back stumbled across a pretty frenetic scene.  I lost count of the number of pelicans.  They were all taking great interest in a fisherman who has the only licence to fish by nets in the river.  As you will see from this image, there was incredible activity and I was lucky enough to capture these magnificent creatures in flight.
