Happy New Year!

No, not the pub on fire, just Rodda's mega fireworks, which are best viewed from beyond the Crown and Sceptre, in Daisybank park. Rodda likes the Light Spectacular.

We didn't go up to the pub until about half eleven, and stayed outside until after the smoke had cleared. We walked home via the allotments, looking at fireworks exploding all.over the Golden valley and the heart of Stroud. A voice warned us that we were being followed but not stalked, but it turned out to be that of our neighbour!

We invited her in for a drink, and after several conversations, eventually staggered upstairs and hit the sack. I kept seeing images behind my eyes in technicolour: was that the drink or the fireworks? It was a long time before I slept.
