The book gets better

Well maybe not better but the historical interest is growing along with my anger which is a sign of a good book. Not that it makes you angry necessarily but that it evokes emotions. It just happens to be anger in this case. One thing that perplexes me is just how much the German people knew about what was happening and how they felt about it. I'm willing to accept that there was a lack of awareness regarding mass executions and cremations or at least an unwillingness to believe the rumours but what did they think had happened to all of the Jewish people who had been removed from their neighborhoods and how did they feel about that?
