Happy New Year

Whether we spin around on our planet in a circle around the Sun or a helical adventure across the galaxy, we choose this time to make an arbitrary change in the calendar numbering.

2016 has had its moments... in terms of political, environment and the like it's been dreadful. And we've marked the loss of so many cultural icons too, perhaps because we are all a bit glass half empty right now. But personally, and for my immediate family, it's been a great year.

Whatever 2017 brings, and it will be in part dreadful and in part wonderful, may you all find more to cheer for than rant about. Happy New Year, folks.
