Farewell to 2016

My cousin rang from Paris today and without prompting she spoke about Brexit, the Referendum, Trump and the rise of the Far Right
France, she says, is fearful. The whole world is fearful.
 
“We have had the best of times, she added. “ I would not like to be a young person today.”
 
There is hope though.  Think of the words of
President John F Kennedy:
 
 
“The Chinese use two brush strokes to write the word ‘crisis’. One brush stroke stands for danger; the other for opportunity.
 
In a crisis, be aware of the danger- but recognize the opportunity.”
 
 
So we end the year on  cheerful note with a blip of Tiggy the Tiger, bought in a charity shop years ago for a young family member except  it has never left our kitchen.
