Goodbye to all that

From my own small world perspective, 2016 has been a great year; happy, productive and filled with love. We had a wonderfully warm French summer and enjoyed great times with great friends both here and there.  From a wider world perspective (well from my perspective) most things have gone wrong; we seem to have lost so many iconic and talented people and we certainly have lost all (or nearly all) political wisdom.  We have entered an age where experts (of which, in my own field, I am unashamedly one) are scorned and false news is accepted as popular fact.  Things, 2017 things, can only get better on all those fronts.  But, if we enjoy a personal 2017 as good as 2016, I will be happy.  Happy and peaceful 2017 to everyone who reads this.
