Wartburg
Antje's parents went home this morning, taking the youngest Bischoff, Jo-Jo, with them for a visit. The rest of us then had a bit of a steep slog up to the medieval Wartburg castle in Eisenach (we had to reward ourselves with yet another bratwurst on the way down!) Actually, most of the interior, whilst pretty stunning, turns out to be a Nineteenth Century approximation of medieval, similar in style to a lot of English Victorian art and interior design. We had a really interesting tour (luckily our German friends insisted we take it in English or I, for one, would have been pretty lost!) and then the kids and I rather rebelliously ducked under a 50 cent turnstile and took a further climb up the South Tower for the amaizing views out over the Thuringer Wald.
Still no songs.
