Bird spotting

Arthur was watching the birds in the garden and obviously decided he could get closer stood like this. He was walking on his back legs for long enough for me to get the camera so this is today's blip.
Today has been a typical between -Christmas- and-New-Year kind of day with not a lot happening. The decorations are down but have not yet made it to the shed and the house is back to normal. I spent the day looking for home schooling resources and lining up things to do. Sam wants to learn about pirates, so pirates it is. We live in a port city so there are lots of handy free museums on boats and maritime things so they will be some of the first things we do.
I'm thinking of map making and desert island survival too (we can sink that pirate ship!) And working on making our own boats and looking at the forces that keep them afloat.We can write messages in bottles and weigh out 'gold'. I'm getting quite excited!
