Drawing to a close

2016 was a long year.
With ups and downs.
Lives lost and new lives created.
Species destroyed and new life forms discovered.
Left and right not always where they were expected.
Out with some and in for others.
Ideas switched on and ideals switched off.
Darkness and light playing with our perceptions.
We were not always willing or able to distinguish between good and bad.
The boundary between friend and foe obscured.
Selfishness and selflessness in a constant battle.
Sickness and health coming and going on their own terms.
