Vane
here is my Weather Vane its a Deer and i live in Hertfordshire so i googled and here is result..... The Anglo-Saxon word for Hertford was, heort ford. The first part heort, means, 'deer crossing', the second, 'ford', means, watercourse. This is why the symbol of Hertfordshire has always contained as least one deer and reference to a body of water.
