Week 53

My Garden Bird Watch Year is nearing its end. This year is effectively a "Leap Year" whereby this quarter has an extra week to bring things back into sync. Rather pleasingly, the new GBW year begins on 1 January.
In our tiny garden, we have our regulars - House Sparrows, Blackbirds, Woodpigeons etc. Then we have the frequent fliers - Goldfinches, Wrens etc, the occasionals - Sparrowhawks, Great Tits, and - as we have here - Coal Tits and the "rarites" such as Greenfinch, Yellowhammer, Grey Wagtail, Song Thrush.  Our all-time garden list is 34 species, and during 2016, 26 species - unless of course, we have a newcomer tomorrow!
