Back in Austin we had to return the hire car we used for the Dallas trip then some shopping for Mrs AMK so it was late in the day before I got a chance to get the camera out.

The light was fading when I reached the nature trail pond and there was a heron in the water but a bit far away.

I liked the lack of subtlety in the warning sign in the extra - the pond I suspect is a run off for flood water which is not uncommon in Texas where the weather can be extreme- I could see evidence of previous flooding with vegetation several feet up the trees surrounding the pond.
