Sci-fi concert in Glasgow
Going to a concert with M is always a fraught experience. He tends to fall asleep in the slow movements and I spend my time anxiously prodding him.
But tonight it was different. There was no way in the Space Spectacular in Glasgow’s Royal concert hall that he could fall asleep . The concert had loads of lasers with fireworks thrown in and the music was from sci-fi films with Gustav Holst Planets – Jupiter and Mars- thrown into the mix.
It was an immersive experience and makes the traditional classical concert look, well, a bit tame. OK heresy I know. Yet the audience reaction tonight showed they totally approved of this innovative way of presenting music especially with some interactive audience participation thrown in.
