My hero

Technically this picture was taken by my four year old niece but given I helped her press the button, I'm going to include it as today's blip.

As you can see, my beard is growing at an alarming rate, as is the bump itself. However, with only 121 days left before the ceremonial shearing, I'm beginning to wish my time away.

Unfortunately the bump's granddad wasn't in a good state today. He's been administered diamorphine for the pain which, according to Google, is the clinical term for heroin. Perhaps I'm being naive but that came as a huge shock to me. Which leads me to reflection...

Dad, I'm sorry for all the fights I've ever had with you and for giving you a hard time for smoking. I don't think I've ever said 'I love you' as much as I have these past few days. Whatever happens, you'll always be my hero(in)
