Another round of visitors today...calling in for lunch...

Mrs madwill's sister and her husband, together with both their mothers, along with our daughter, her husband and our granddaughter were here, so we had the inevitable round of clearing up and vacuuming, as well as some shopping for lunch bits.

We didn't know for definite until late yesterday that they were coming as mother-in-law, who was staying with Mrs madwill's sister, has broken her foot after a fall on Christmas Day and they have been tripping to the hospital for three days to try and get treatment. The doctor decided yesterday they couldn't fit her in this week and so 'discharged' her to the care of a hospital nearer home in Darlington! She now has to go there for a scan and probably an operation.

I did mange to get out for a walk today (missed out yesterday). Walking through the woods, the lower levels were very frosty but the sun had been warming the tops of the trees and the melting frost was falling but turning to 'snow' as it fell (technically it was probably more like hail, but it was very fine). It was really quite a strange sight. Lots of little ice pellets littered the ground.
