Barrister's Bookcase

This is a barrister's bookcase that belonged to my grandmother. There were no barristers in our family until our children's generation. See note:  "A barrister's bookcase consists of several separate shelf units that may be stacked together to form a cabinet. An additional plinth and hood complete the piece. When moving chambers, each shelf is carried separately without needing to remove its contents and becomes a carrying-case full of books."  This one is pre-WWII.  The doors open from the bottom and slide in above the books.  It was in my parents' attic for years, so I am not really sure about the age. If you do a Google search for them, you will find some are quite valuable.  Incidentally, the steeple clock on top of the bookcase is one I made from a kit in 1974.
