All calm on the surface

There was a glimmer of light in the sky this morning as I was getting ready to go out. It was a clear morning and frosty, and stayed that way all day. I was tempted out in my lunch break to walk down to the Kent, and rewarded by this lovely group of goosander.
They often hang about here during the winter, not disturbed by being right in town. I hope they don't eat nasty white bread though!
The river was flowing quite steadily but they were just sitting there, presumably paddling like mad!
