My Little Buddy

He indulged me yesterday and did the same today.  Good ol' Zippy  comes through again!!!
Compare today with the previous shot.  What a difference light and flight make in his appearance.  Would you have known they were the same bird?

Zippy is a Costa's hummingbird.  Costa's are the second smallest hummers in North America, measuring 8.89 cm.from bill to tail, weighing 2-3 g  with an 11 cm wingspan.  The smallest is the Calliope hummingbird.  They are 8.13 cm long, weigh 2.6-3.4 g and also have an 11 cm. wingspan
