Banks!

Don't you hate it when the bank promises something, like a cheque clearing, will be done by a certain day, like today, then it's not. So you phone up to see what's happened & they tell you "Oh no, sorry, that's the wrong information, it'll actually be done for tomorrow!" Then they offer to refund the cost of your phone call, probably not even 50p, for the inconvenience :-(
