TVR - R.I.P. ?

Tuesday Bank Holiday - in compensation of the "loss" of Sunday.

Today Purbeck is full of cyclists, motor cyclists and car rallies (the two latter categories ensuring that their engines will produce an impressive decibel reading).  Here is a convoy of sports cars which have ground to a halt.  The driver of the red TVR is about to utter the dreaded words : "she has died on me!"

Clearly his accompanying wife is dispensible, but the TVR - short for "Trevor", believe it or not - is his pride and joy and doesn't want to go any further.

By the way, smart sports cars like this will nearly always have suitably smart registration numbers.  And the red car has a licence plate with TVR, one which may well have cost as much as the car.
