Intrepid

With a multitude of family visiting for the day, we took time to do the canal-river circuit between Saltaire and Dowley Gap. This time last year the walk would have been impossible, with the River Aire still very high after the Boxing Day floods, as seen in my year ago blip.

This intrepid Dipper was braving the turbulent weir at Hirst Mill, here caught in between dips. The weir was severely damaged in the floods  but there is a campaign to raise funds to restore it.
